SOCIAL: Art auction - call for donations

  I'm organizing a fundraiser/art auction for SFPO, San Francisco's new progressive political coaltion, and thought some folks on this list might be interested in donating art.... Thanks for reading!! Cat

  On April 8, the San Francisco Peoples' Organization will host and art auction and fundraiser party at 111 Minna.  SFPO is soliciting art donations and performers for the event.
   
  SFPO is a coalition of community based organizations, labor, advocacy groups, and individuals committed to building a progressive vision for San Francisco. We are creating a long-term strategic alliance of people of color, women, labor, working poor, lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgender persons, seniors, persons with disabilities, faith-based communities, youth, and any group or individual that will fight for economic and social justice. Over 500 individuals and numerous community-based organizations, unions, and current and former elected officials attended our founding convention last June. Since our formation, we have worked hard to defeat the Governor's agenda during the November 2005 special election, and have been actively involved in many local progressive campaigns and actions. 
   
  SFPO's art auction on April 8 will be a large event and a central part of our fundraising strategy to continue our campaign work, hire a paid organizer/administrator, and hold our 2006 annual membership conference. 
   
    SFPO is looking for art donations of all media and all price ranges.  Donors will receive free admittance to the event and special recognition in SFPO outreach materials.
