The San Francisco Natural History Series
at the Randall Museum
offers
The Origin of San Francisco Bay
with
Kenneth Lajoie

Geologically speaking, San Francisco Bay is young at only 10,000 years.
Discover how the fascinating history of our Bay was learned with special
guest, retired USGS senior scientist Ken Lajoie.
Considered Mr. Coastal Geology, Lajoie is known throughout the Bay
Area for
his research on coastal erosion from San Francisco to Año Nuevo. He has
worked for many years to educate San Mateo County residents about the
natural processes and conditions of this geologically active region.
Lajoie's evening talk and slide show will focus on San Francisco Bay and
the processes by which it was created and which will ultimately cause
it to
disappear.
