SOCIAL: anyone know good networking places for my brother?

Hello, I am Deep's friend the location scout, still
shamelessly looking for offices and homes if anyone
has anything but that's not why I am writing.  

I am sick for a while with the big BC and my brother
is coming out from New york to help care for me for
the second shift, after my mother-in-law leaves, two
or three months beginning near the end of January.  He
will be looking for freelance work in the
computer/tech world, which I know nothing about and I
am passing his resume out to you all with fingers
crossed that someone can point him in directions as I
am merely and artist and would have no idea about
these sorts of things.

He is the smartest man I know.  And the kindest. 
Which says a lot as I am fortunate to know many, many
smart kind men.  And he's clever, he's been writing
headlines for the New York Post for years.  Those are
my sisterly bragging rights and that's my personal
recommendation.
  
He said that I can say that he's a web developer, He
worked for six years at BusinessWeek.com, and
primarily works with PHP/MySQL now. He told me that's
what people would really want to know.

  He is also making a documentary film and I think
it's looking really good and that he has an eye for
it, perhaps someone knows some cool things for him to
check ou here?  He grew up on the West Coast
(Portland) and has been in New York for twenty years
so I think it will be a great time for him to do some
exploring and meeting people in a gorgeous, friendly
west coast city. You may enjoy his old website
offoffoff, He's on hiatus, it can be a great place to
work on your Netlix list.  I also know that he really
wants to check out Current TV while he's here if
anyone is connected in any way.

Any way, long story short, can anyone be so nice as to
tell me where to direct him to look for freelance work
while he comes out here to do a very nice thing for
his sister?
