SOCIAL: hooking mac mini to tv

Your TV needs to have either a DVI or HDMI input. As long as it does,
then you just need to get a longish DVI-to-DVI or DVI-to-HDMI cable.
Keep your receipt - defective cables are common, and paying more is
no guarantee of better quality.
If you TV doesn't have such an input, but does have component input
(look for red, green, blue RCA jacks on the back) you might as well
buy an AppleTV; by the time you paid for the cable and a converter
box, you'll have paid as much as an Apple TV costs.
This takes care of the video. For audio, you need a 1/8" mini-
headphone plug to RCA plug cable, to go from the headphone jack of
the mac mini to the RCA inputs on the back of your TV or stereo. The
best way to extend this cable is to get a 1/8" plug to 1/8" jack
headphone extension cable.
If your TV doesn't have any of these inputs... hmmm, time for a new
TV? ;-)
