SOCIAL: Read any good books lately?

Hey, 

I want to get my brother a couple books for Christmas and I am hoping this
well read bunch can help me out. Have you read anything interesting lately
that you would like to share? My brother is the type of person that will
read the latest book on John Adams or William Shakespeare for the fun of it.
He designs wireless computer chips for a living and has an iphone. He is
interested in politics (big Obama supporter, but already read his books),
the environment, history and technology. He also enjoys fiction and anything
that just seems interesting. Got any ideas?
