I've never seen a foreign transaction fee on my Chase Amazon card..but I
haven't paid very close attention.

My WaMu debit card charges me just 1% foreign transaction fee. Probably
cheaper for me than converting money any other way.
Yes, I know it's not a credit card, but you might want to look into using a
debit card overseas if that helps you reduce fees.

I thought I'd throw another question into the mix to see if we can keep the
volume of email on social up at record highs.
My pet peeve is that all my credit cards (and debit cards) have started
charging me foreign transaction fees a 2% or 3% fee added every time I use
this card overseas. They never used to do this and it's really just another
way for the banks to make money with spurious fees. It doesn't really cost
them that much to do the transaction or exchange the money.
Does anybody out there know of a widely accepted card (Visa or MC) that
doesn't charge this foreign transaction fee (FTF).

Dear Social,
I am looking to get a unsecured credit card now that I can. I am not a big
fan of credit cards but i need to have atleast one. I was thinking due to my
ok score i can get a good one. Have been going back and forth between
rewards and miles and cash back and this and that. I am feeling very small
to venture out in this world of credit cards all by myself so i am looking
to get some advice from you folks. I am very disciplined to paying back and
stuff just dont know which ones to get its a big cc world out there!
Do you have credit cards that you recommend and more importantly do not
recommend? if you want to send me direct emails at palak.joshi at gmail.com it
would be fine or to the group, whatever you feel comfortable doing.
thanks and have a good day.
palak.
