SOCIAL: 'Deep & Celeste's Thanksgiving: POTLUCK + Turkapocalypse || 11/29/08

So it is once again Turkeytime!  And we have an extra bunch of  
goodness to be thankful for this year! (Starts with an O and ends with  
a bama).

Just like last year, instead of my traditional Thursday Thanksgiving,  
Celeste & I will be doing a SATURDAY TURKAPOCALYPSE & POTLUCK.  That  
means we'll be deep-frying 3 turkeys throughout the day & asking you  
folks to bring the other stuff.

Last year was BIG fun and we hope you can all make it!  It was  
basically a day of eating, people dropping by, eating, watching movies  
& videos, eating, feeling heavy, eating, having dessert and eating.   
Actually that sounds kinda disgusting, but trust us, it was a GOOD  
time. Very mellow, RELAXING, and GREAT company.  We're really looking  
forward to it.

It will be Saturday the 29th starting at 1pm at 'Deep World HQ (937  
Valencia).

This Year's Tune Up - Main Dishes Up Front
Last year, the turkeys were great & the food was awesome, but there  
was one slight glitch in that various core items weren't around when  
you wished for them (i.e the early people just had meat & pie because  
that is all we had around, the sides came later :-) )  So to fix this  
problem, we're going to try to have a few basic items around from the  
get go.  Can any of you commit to showing up by 1:30 with one of the  
following:
Mashed Potatoes
GRAVY
Stuffing
Salad or Side Dish Vegetables
Pie

If you can, put it on the wiki or email me ('Deep)!  It is OK to  
double up on basic items because we'll need plenty! Celeste and I will  
try to fill in any gaps that are remaining.

HERE IS WHAT WE NEED TO KNOW FROM YOU:
1) Do you think you might make it? If so, send me ('Deep) an email so  
we can get a general headcount.
2) Put what you are bringing ON THE WIKI (link below) - see details  
below
3) Estimated arrival time just so we can know what we need to supply
4) Can you come early with a MAIN DISH?

Last year, Liz had the excellent suggestion of doing all this via a  
Wiki. I was skeptical because I didn't think people would use it, but  
I was wrong - it worked really well!  So this year, we'll do it  
again.  I'd love for you to use it, but if you don't want to just

2) APPROX SCHEDULE
We'll be deep-frying 3 turkeys - they will be coming out of the fryer  
APPROXIMATELY as follows:
	1:30 pm Heritage Turkey Deep Fried (12lbs) (I think it is organic too)
	3:30 pm Organic Turkey Deep Fried (14lbs)
	5:30 pm Heritage Turkey Deep Fried (12lbs) (I think it is organic too)

3) Potluck Ideas
	Vegetarian Main Dishes
	Side Dishes
	Desserts
	Drinks
	Snacks

4) Trypto-coma Theater Suggestions
We'll be showing Wall•E (Yay!) but other movies suggestions welcome.   
Lemme know.  "Singin In The Rain?"  Maybe watching Obama's speech on  
race (I still haven't watched the whole thing but the part I saw was  
amazing) if we're feeling geeky.

5) SF Food Bank
We'll be making a small donation to the SF Food Bank in honor of  
Turkapocalypse and all of you, but I'll include the link in case any
