Dear friends and family,

  If you get this email twice, it just means you are are included on two of my mailing lists.
  I just made my first campaign donation ever and I'm feeling really good about it.  I didn't have much to donate but I know that it all adds up in the end.  I made my donation to No on 8 in the name of my friend Michael Horrace who is currently dealing with similar issues that I watched one friend after another go through as they lost their partners to AIDS. 
 I guess after all of this time I have forgotten that when some one passes away, his or her same sex partner partner does not have the same rights as a married couple, domestic partner or not, period.  It happens that just at this time I am watching a friend go through it first hand, his name is Michael so I honored him and his recently deceased partner Steven with my donation.
  I am married and my partner knows everything about me, he knows how I would want to have my possessions dispersed and which possessions we share, he knows how I want to be remembered and he knows everything about my medical history including what I think would be best for me and because of a simple piece of paper, he has the absolute right to make those decisions when that time comes. It's not a religous issue, it's a legal issue and a human issue, we even let Athiests get married.
  I am noticing a lot of Yes on 8 commercials on the air and I think with all that's going on, we are forgetting that No on 8 needs money to advertise as well.  So, I am sending out this plea because it is important.
