If anyone is interested in coming to this Neal Stephenson (sold out!)
reading tonight, I have an extra ticket, which I am willing to give to
you, yes YOU. for a mere ... well for free if you like.
Liz is not going to be able to make it tonight.

He is an author of SciFi, HistorialFi and what I like to call EconFi. Most
famously of Snow Crash, Diamond Age, Cryptonomicom, and the Baroque Cycle.
All good food for thought (if lately very dense food for thought),
populated with odd and amusing characters, and bits of absolutely
brilliant writing.

Tuesday 9/9/02008

Tonight Neal Stephenson presents his latest novel Anathem. We will have a
live web cast of the evening starting at 7pm on this page:
http://www.longnow.org/anathem/

The live event (now sold out) is at The Regency on Van Ness and Sutter in
SF. Please only come if you have ordered a ticket. There will be two
lines: one for Long Now members, and one for general admission. Almost all
tickets are will call so there is not a separate line to pickup tickets.
We plan to open doors between 6:15 and 6:30, but come early to get in line
for good seats.

We will NOT have food at the event, so please grab a bite before hand. We
will have a bar for refreshments while people wait for book inscriptions,
watch the martial arts demonstrations, and participate in some of the math
driven chanting directed by David Stutz.

Local bookseller The Booksmith will be selling signed books at the event.
Your support of local bookstores is appreciated.

Thanks,
--
