SOCIAL: Debates & thanks!

Hey Socialites,
I wanted to say thank-you to all the socialites who showed up at Deep's
gathering and Deep himself for the awesome quality cuddle time we all
had with McCain/Obama. I never knew that watching the debates with
like-minded people could help with the extreme cringe-factor I
inevitably experience. Palin/Biden promises to be extremely cringe
worthy considering Palin herself is cringe inducing even with only
herself to debate!

I want to express my horror as John McCain stated that he knows that
vets know that "I will take care of them." 300,000 veterans are going
to come back with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. 80% will never seek
treatment at the VA because they mistrust the government that sent them
into trauma. The remaining 20% who do seek help are faced with a VA
whose administration ASKED ITS MENTAL HEALTH WORKERS TO DECREASE THE
VETS WHO ARE DIAGNOSED WITH PTSD. Yes. You read that right. These
people will never get the care they need because their benefits will
expire and they will be left with undiagnosed PTSD.

This is why private treatment efforts are needed. However you feel
about the war, these men and women were asked to do the one thing that
stands above all other acts: they were asked to kill for us. And many,
many of them pay for the rest of their lives. I know this is a
shameless plug for our group that treats veterans, but it is for a good
cause, so I don't mind. We will be rolling out the campaign in the
mid-Nov timeframe, so please watch out for it on 'social. Also, if you
have specialized graphic-design or website design skills, that would be
a greatly appreciated, tax deductible in-kind donation.

Meanwhile, below are some links about recent vet issues/legislation.
Thanks for reading,
Mike Kosim
