SOCIAL: making digital images from Kodachrome or Ektacrome slides?

You might try photoworks on Market.
Brian and I no longer trust them to develop film, but I think the kids
there ought to be able to handle some slides without ruining them.
Their prices seem reasonable for the work involved. You should expect
someone to attempt to remove dust from the slide prior to scanning at
this price, so if they come back with black boulders on the scans,
feel entitled to do-overs.

If you want the best possible service in the city, I'd recommend
Oscar's in SOMA.
That's where Brian takes his film these days. Most of the large prints
in our house were made there.
But you'll definitely pay for the privilege of having someone who
actually cares work on your stuff.

If these are both too pricy, I say you might as well go to Ritz or one
of its brethren. They'll toss your slides into a stack-loading scanner
and let the machine run without any cleaning or proofing.
