SOCIAL: bike questions

I would suggest going to a bike shop and trying some bikes out. Every  
person has their own requirements, body type, etc. and finding the  
right bike for you is key.

The price range might be a little on the low end and you should budget  
money for lights, a helmet, paniers (if you think that you will haul  
stuff with your bike)
