I have an extra ticket for this talk tonight if anyone is interested
-- although it looks like there'll be room anyway..
---------- Forwarded message ----------
I'm stoked about tonight's talk by the new head of the Smithsonian,
and not just because the Institution is planning serious collaboration
with Long Now. Wayne Clough is taking a revolutionary multi-century
perspective on reframing the Smithsonian's already formidable role in
shaping how America manages history and science.
Another bonus: August's usual low audience turnout means that probably
everyone who wants to get in free tonight will. Walk up, saunter in.
"Smithsonian Forever," Wayne Clough, Cowell Theater, Fort Mason, San
Francisco, 7pm, TONIGHT, August 17. The show starts promptly at
7:30pm. Admission is free---if there's room. To be sure of a seat,
become a Long Now member and reserve a seat or order an advance ticket
($10).
Advance sales and RSVP's end at 3:00pm today. Long Now Members can
reserve a seat +1 guest HERE (Use "discount code" from your email and
on the "Events" tab on the Long Now Member's site.) You can purchase
tickets for $10 HERE
The next SALT talks are:
Sep. 14 - Arthur Ganson, "Machines and the Breath of Time"
Oct. 9 - Stewart Brand, "Rethinking Green"
Tonight's event is one of a monthly series of Seminars About Long-term
Thinking (SALT) organized by The Long Now Foundation.
