SOCIAL: recommendations for photo sites

I used to use a Flickr pro account however I wasn't notified when it was time to renew my membership.  Instead, they took away all of my albums but three and said I could have them back when I renewed my account.  Fortunately I keep copies of all of my albums and out of principal I won't renew a service just to feel like I'm paying a ransom.
  I'm going to check out Phanfare!  We are also living somewhere with a very weak internet connection and we've had great luck sending big files with a service called yousendit.com

Hi all,
I currently use Snapfish.com for managing all my photos and videos, but they have dropped the ball in numerous ways recently, so I'm shopping around for other sites.  What I'm looking for is a site where I can upload photos/videos, share said photos/videos with friends and family at no cost to them, purchase photo holiday cards, calendars and other gifts with photos on them.

Any recommendations?  Thanks.
