Hey, everyone!

I have a 3-day pass to WonderCon this Fri, Sat & Sun that we can't now use
(my brother who was going to be visiting came down with the flu).

http://www.comic-con.org/wc/wc_prog.shtml

It's a fun convention of comics, scifi, fantasy & video games. We went last
year and saw some cool presentations from Pixar and some movie studios as
well as perused the many vendors and enjoyed the general spectacle
(full-size dalek, multiple batmen, stormtroopers, David Duchovny [sigh],
Gillian Anderson). I even got my picture taken with Gumby (see my facebook
profile). It's a great entree for the novice into the world of cons because
it is filled with hipster comic people as well as dedicated sci fi geeks,
families, and gamers.

This year's highlights include: a presentation of the Watchmen and the new
Star Trek movies; celebs like Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher (sans light
saber and hair buns, respectively); local author Michael Chabon talking
about his comic-related novel "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay";
there's the have-to-see-it-to-believe-it Masquerade Ball on Saturday from
8:30pm to 11:30pm, giving you time to then take your award-winning costume
to Deep's party (for you Social-Listers); and if you missed it at the
Parkway Theater a couple years ago, Buffy the Musical - perhaps the finest,
funniest and most ingenious episode ever to come out of the Buffy-verse,
complete with Rocky Horror-style audience participation - will end the
convention on Sunday.

See the link above for the full programming schedule.

I think I have to give you the physical printout, so we'd have to do a
handoff. I am in Oakland. We will probably be going to the con on Sat. if
you wanted to meet then to get the pass for weekend usage. If you want to go
on Friday as well, we'll have to coordinate an earlier meeting.

The pass cost us $30. For $15, the wonder of WonderCon can be yours. Or, if
you're interested and don't have the dough right now, let me know and if
no-one buys it, you can have it.

Thanks,

Erin
