There's a fundraiser one week from today at Docs Clock for Bay Keeper:
Please join us on Friday June 18th to raise money to help one of our local non-profits, Baykeeper, help out in the gulf. All you have to do is come by anytime that Friday and drink a few beers. 100% of the profit from select beer (PBR bottles, Chimay Red, Anderson Valley Summer Solstice, Sierra Nevada, Lagunitas and more...) will be donated directly to Baykeeper. There will also be representatives from Baykeeper who can answer questions and collect donations. Remember donating is tax deductible and BP isn't doing much so we need to help. Hope to see you there.
"San Francisco Baykeeper is helping guide and support Gulf Coast Waterkeepers as they respond to the ongoing BP oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. As a lead responder to the 2007 Cosco Busan spill in San Francisco Bay, we have a great deal of hard-won knowledge of Coast Guard and response regulations, and now we're putting those lessons to use in the Gulf. For example, parts of the volunteer management plan developed in the Bay Area are being used around the Gulf Coast as volunteers document damages and report oiled wildlife. We also sent two staff people to the Gulf Coast to assist with on-the-round efforts at Louisiana Bayoukeeper and Emerald Coastkeeper in Florida." www.baykeeper.org
