<p style="margin-left: 0.5in; text-indent: -0.5in;"><b>The House</b></p>

<p>Lovely two-bedroom spacious split-level house in the heart of Temescal to
share with me and my two friendly kittens.  Hardwood floors throughout,
large kitchen with a gas stove, sunny living room and good-sized dinning
room.  The bedroom for rent is medium–sized and has a hardwood floor, a
small closet, and gets a fair amount of natural light.<span>  </span>It is located in the back of the house, set
away from the street, so it’s very quiet.<span> 
</span>Shared bathroom.<span>  </span>Small, fenced
backyard shared with the upstairs tenants.  The house is mostly furnished,
but I’m open to some joint re-decoration of the common spaces in order to make
the space more truly shared.<span>  </span>That said,
I’m pretty psyched about contributing as little as possible to absurd cycles of
consumption and hope to find a roommate who is content with garage sales and
thrift store for most purchases.</p>

<p><b>The Neighborhood</b></p>

<p>The house is in a ridiculously cute, convenient location, one block away
from the Temescal hub of 51^st and Telegraph.<span>  </span>Bake Sale Betty’s, great restaurants &
coffee shops, swank wine bars & the real-deal dive bars, the infamous East
Bay Depot for Creative Re-Use, a few other thrift stores and the post-office
are all within a short walk.<span>  </span>The block
is quiet, friendly and safe.<span>  </span>Rockridge
and Macarthur Bart are within walking distance, a bus stop for major lines is a
half block away, and street parking is available.</p>

<p><b>Me</b></p>

<p>I’m a 30 year-old female graduate student studying Public Policy and Latin
American Studies at UC Berkeley.<span>  </span>I’m
active, studious, and busy with school, yoga, ceramics, dancing, hiking etc and
hope to find someone who is similarly engaged in lots of interesting
hobbies/endeavors.<span>  </span>My pre-graduate
school existence involved a few years of international travel/work, community
organizing in the states, and a brief stint as a potter’s apprentice (in rural Missouri!!).<span>  </span>While I organize occasional social gatherings
at the house, I also enjoy having my home as a quiet refuge and hope to find a
roommate who also seeks a calm home environment.<span>  </span>I tend to keep the house (mostly) clean,
especially the kitchen.<span>  </span>There isn’t a TV
in the house and I’m hoping to keep it that way, though maybe I’d be open to a
hidden TV that makes occasional appearances for movies.<span>  </span>I’d drawn to people who are smart, witty,
confident, active, brave, playful, and kind. <span> </span>My kittens are sweethearts, but they are also
in their adolescence, so a good roommate match is also a patient
animal-lover.<span>  </span>In a roommate, I’ve found
that open communication and reasonable-ness are pretty essential.<span>  </span>No smokers, please. </p>

<p>Rent: $700 + utilities + wireless internet.</p>

<p>June 1 move-in date (earlier date negotiable)</p>
