1. Wordpress is great and my favorite blogging tool at this point. There are other choices, but if you think it works for you - stick to it.

2. I don't have direct experience, but you might want to check out various non profit tech sites for articles: NTEN is one. Could probably find plenty of articles just by googling.

Adrian

Hello O' Wise and Web-Saavy Socialites ~

I'm putting together a blog that will launch in a month or so, and I have a few very basic questions as I start along this path.

The blog will be called "SF Polichicks" and will feature all-women writers, from across the political spectrum writing on SF political and social issues. I reserved the wordpress blog URL about a year and a half ago, but haven't used it yet.

My questions are:
1. Is the Wordpress blogging platform the best choice? Or at least almost the best choices? What are the major downsides and upsides?
2. I would like to include an ad revenue componant. Does anyone have any good 'how to' resources about creating/maximizing blogging revenue? I know nothing at this point... However, I have a lot of solid and well-known women writers lined up, and I have a feeling that the blog readership could potentially be high... so I figure I should at least this to generate tiny bit of little pocket change :)

Any and all feedback would be much appreciated!

Thanks!
Cat

--
Catherine Rauschuber
415.378.7025
c.rauschuber@gmail.com
