When complete, the project will have restored 15,100 acres of industrial salt ponds to a tidal wetlands and other habitats. This is part of a larger campaign to restore some 40,000 acres of lost tidal wetlands in the Bay.</div><div><br></div><div>John Bourgeois has 15 years of experience working on large-scale wetland restoration projects. For 11 years he was a restoration ecologist with the Los Gatos-based ecological consulting firm H.T.
