SOCIAL: Earth Hour

Hey all,

I got a free breakfast to hear Wade Crowfoot, the mayor's new  
director of climate protection initiatives, talk about "earth hour,"  
the effort to get people in cities around the globe to turn off their  
lights for an hour starting at 8 pm Saturday, March 11. So I figured  
it's my duty to promote the event.

Sounds more like a feel-good event than an effective effort to reduce  
global warming, but hey, what do I know? It's harmless, fun, and you  
never know what goodness might come out of well-intentioned harmless  
fun. Maybe an ecobaby will be conceived in that dark hour!

I plan to turn my lights off for an hour that day. Here are the
