SOCIAL: credit card

I have a United mileage card, simply because a free trip to India every
three years is worth the $180 in annual fees that I pay over that period.

Yes, there are blackout periods, but it isn't a big deal for India trips,
at least for me I've been able to work around them. Within the US, a
different story - the blackout periods are very limiting.

I also have only one credit card (well two, if you count my bank debit
card) to simplify my life. One bill, one limit, less risk of over
  self-indulgence :-)

I will recommend an REI membership, if you don't get their Visa card.
They have a membership dividend (based on your purchases) that is
  great! Love that store!

Regards,
Aparna
