SOCIAL: On Race, Obama, and Ohio: How We Could Still Lose This Thing

Hey folks -

So as entirely expected by this time of year, I've been entirely  
absorbed by watching the presidential campaign.  I've been scouring  
the interweb for info, obsessing about poll numbers, and swallowing  
NYT coverage whole.  Today, I read perhaps the best election piece  
I've read.  It scares me the hell out of me but also makes the most  
sense.

It is a moving and painful report about Ohio, and how tough the times  
are there.  It highlights how difficult it will be for Obama to carry  
the bed-rock working class whites & how racism can hide a major  
difference between polling & voting.  Scary & yet touching.

As an aside, I'm headed to Ohio next week.
