SOCIAL: I need an iphone

I was anticipating a flood o' responses to this, and it's been surprisingly quiet... Susan--the new version is apparently 27% slimmer, and has a 5MB camera w/ flash (whereas the current has a substantially lower-resolution--although still pretty good--camera w/o flash).
If you primarily take pictures with your phone (or want to), then I'd go with the new version (which is supposed to be available this summer). Otherwise, I bet some folks on SOCIAL are going to upgrade to the new version, and may have already contacted you accordingly about selling you their current phone.
More importantly, if you plan to talk on your phone a lot, I don't recommend the iPhone (or rather, AT&T's network, which is not nearly as good as Verizon in SF, and will noticably compromise the quality of your calls). The iPhone IS great for checking email and web browsing and has an incredible app library...
Hope that helps--even a little!

Subject: SOCIAL: I need an iphone
Last week, I finally decided to join the 21st century and plan to buy an iphone soon. So, there's a fancy new version out there that I am intrigued by, though I suspect it is a lot more phone than I need. I thought I'd ask folks on this list about it (the good, bad, why the version introduced today is better than the previous ones) and also see if one of you is planning on upgrading and selling your current iphone for a decent price.
thanks in advance for the input.
peace,
susan
