I'm always surprised by all the techno-savy amongst us who don't get how regular people use computers.  Yes Eric, it was easy for *us* to do before, but it wasn't easy *enough* for 90% of the folks.

Each additional step of complexity makes it disproportionately more unlikely people are to use things.  That is why all the Treo, NOKIA and Windows Mobile people were left scratching their heads with the iPhone - "Wait our phones can do all those things!!?" - "Yes, but harder, uglier. more convoluted, and just less elegant."
